As discovered from different forms of mediums, I have read articles from the net and magazine, which has given me ideas and a view into what the commonalities are around delivering a coaching service, which will benefit any clients that use me as a tool to boost their life fulfilment.
Strategy one: Deciding on a business name for the net
1. Like fishing, the name needs to be a hook
The hook needs to be attractive and catch the interest of the fish. This tip came from my mother who mentioned that the client dosn’t necessarily realise exactly what solution they are going to need when they come to me. They are searching for something to fill a gap. So the name dosn’t necessarily have to have the same common words affiliated to that product or business. If we look at some of the top names out like Google, eBay, iPod…they are names which have revolutionised thinking within business and behaviour. The name reflects a movement, the name seperates them from the service and it is the business that is bought to light, when thinking of the name. So brainstorming an idea my parents and I came up with …….. (okay that’s top secret for now, but one that I like and will register).
Strategy two: Movement for change
This comes from a lovely lady named Peggy McColl, see in the blogroll, how to connect to her article. It states 4 steps with which to bring about change and gives reasons as to why, even though we want change it dosn’t seem to happen.
Internalising that information as a tool to implement into my service, it gives me a visual look at how effective defined steps can be. The steps not only have to be defined, but they need to reflect something unique about the person delivering those steps. I think in that way it feels more personalised, it gives it a fresh perspective to age old strategies. Because even though they are age old strategies, we as humans still need to be reminded, to be challenged, to think differently, so that our minds can internalise it within what is happening in our life at the moment.
I do love her steps though, and they have given me a fresh way to look at change and ideas on the line of questioning I may use in coaching. As an indication on what she discusses, here are her steps.
1. You can’t break out of prison until you realise you are in one
2. Knowledge is not enough, you need to internalise it to encourage change
3. It takes a little bit of poison to kill
Here I just want to highlight a fantastic visual and tangible excercise, which was shown to Peggy by Bob Proctor in one of his lectures. There are two glasses. One has water with coffee in it, the other just water. He adds a tablespoon of water to the coffee and asks when the crowd can see the difference in colour. After quite a few tablespoons, the coffee glass colour changes. This represents a negative view and how much it takes for positive thoughts to change the negative. The other glass he takes a small amount of coffee and it changes instantly in the glass of water. This represents a positive view and how much negativity it takes to change that. Not much. We can all relate to that, I’m sure.
4. To gain everything you want, you have to be willing to loose it all
Strategy three: Pass it On
This information comes direct from some wonderful and very successful people who are part of a movie which has been released. It works along the same lines as the movie ‘The Secret’, but its focus is on passing it on, through mentorship. That is, helping others to bring out the gifts they have, becuase in reality everyone has something special to give, to say, to do.
I took from that some common themes:
1. Their first mentors gave them positive reinforcement
2. Along with reinforcement, they gave them opportunity to be responsible. Howard Putnam referred to it as a Yoyo series of leadership.
3. These people realised that success extends to every single human being and they could encourage that in others because they weren’t scared to see success in other people. Actually they thrived off it, because it gave them motivation, it gave them acknowledgement and satisfaction around bringing good to humankind.
strategy four: energy source from water
This strategy came from simple.ology, which is a package that is sold to get people to succeed from designed formula’s created by Mark Joyner. One of his numerous strategies for more energy is to drink water not in one go, but by the hour to rehydrate, and watch the difference it makes with your energy levels. I have tried it and I did recognise an increase in the heart levels, but this I will try throughout the week and see how it goes.
There are some other strategies that I have picked up in the last few days. At the moment they are flooding in and I am needing to find time and energy to just put them down and keep a note of them, that’s why I love this blog because it is a way to organise that.
For the other strategies that I have found, they are in a magazine called ‘Boss’ discussing topics around business, but there is a movement that is noticed within this and that is a human element. Which is the business that I am moving into, the question is how do I tap into that, in order to promote my service? This is of course a process.
That question I will endeavour to answer in my next blog as it discusses the future movement of businss initiatives. How exciting, strategic planning around my future. yay!
